Academic Monitoring
We Make Student-Athletes
At Seminole High School, we take academics seriously. We know that the game of football can only get us so far. As coaches and mentors to these young men, we push them for excellence not only on the field but in the classroom as well. We preach to them that regardless of how talented they are on the field their grades must reflect their focus and dedication as well. As a team we host a study hall every Wednesday in the spring with the focus of keeping our guys on track. Every week players are required to submit completed grade reports so we can monitor their progress academically. The first three boxes for each class period must be completed by the student and the remaining sections must be filled out and signed by the corresponding teachers. Reports MUST be completed and turned in to Coach Calhoun's office every Wednesday or Friday depending on the students' respective gameday. Those with reports that reflect poor effort, discipline, and focus will not be able to enjoy the privilege that is representing Seminole High School football.
Our Academic Success Policies are as follows:
Grade sheets must be turned in at the end of the
school day on your respective game day. (e.g.,
Varsity will turn in grade sheets on Friday)
Two or more “Fs” on grade sheet will result in
sitting out from the week’s game(s).
Weekly “Ds” and “Fs” reports will be emailed to
the student-athlete and parents.
Instances of poor grades and classroom
behavior will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
The appropriate punishment for each case will be
decided by the position coach and/or head coach
Please see here for the gradesheet file. If for whatever reason you don't have a grade sheet, you can print one from the pdf link below.
